Assistant Pharmacist NMC Healthcare Sharjah

An Assistant Pharmacist assists pharmacists by performing all clerical duties necessary to ensure that a pharmacy is running efficiently. They answer telephone calls, manage the cash register, and restock shelves with medication and other pharmaceutical supplies. This role is also responsible for overall management of pharmacy from MOH and organization perspective.

Duties as Pharmacist Assistant

• Responsible to welcome and greet patients/customers as they enter the pharmacy.
• Dispense medication accurately in an orderly manner in the correct dosage & quantity.
• Work closely with pharmacy staff. Facilitate, induct, train & develop staff on their job When necessary and encourage effective teamwork.
• Take care of every patient who walks in without leaving anybody unsatisfied and unattended.
• Responsible for maintenance of medicine /general products on the rack and ensure to locate the correct medicine from the rack as per prescription.
• Ensure proper maintenance of inventory and handle it properly.
• Responsible to handle phone calls in the pharmacy and provide information to customer queries.
• Responsible to implement and Improve Quality SOPs in the pharmacy as per MOH guidelines and work closely with Quality Manager.
• Ensure the pharmacy coordinators are escorting all clinic patients to pharmacy.
• Ensure the pharmacy is MOH compliant and update all the documents regularly and kept in the pharmacy.
• Responsible for Liquidation of pharmacy stock.
• Ensure to have a proper plan to liquidate product with short shelf life to avoid non-moving and expiry issues.
• Responsible to notify purchase coordinator of slow and fast-moving products from the ERP
• Give priority to non-moving stock for OTC.
• Prepare and submit a monthly report of non-moving items from the rack to the purchase coordinator and responsible for liquidation of non-moving product.
• Each cash bill should be completed at the time of dispensing.
• Responsible to check the stock of assigned rack weekly and send the report to the pharmacy manager/supervisor.
• Ensure the medicines are well arranged in the racks and managed properly.

Education & Experience

Following are the requirements for the role of Assistant Pharmacist at NMC Healthcare:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy(BPharm ) / Master’s or a related field.
• Valid MOH/DHA License or Eligibility to obtain one.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in handling and monitoring the quality, safety and use of the medicines, strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients.
• Excellent and detail oriented when it comes to prescriptions and of dispensing of medicines.
• Strong Communication, Multitasking skills, and ability to work well with others.
• Proficient in handling computer systems and and mathematically knowledgeable.
