A creative Art and Design Teacher is needed for an upper school setting. This full time role reports to the Head of Art and Design. You will teach Visual Arts and Design to high school students. The school follows the IB curriculum framework. Therefore, you will plan lessons that align with IB MYP and DP requirements. Your goal is to provide high quality teaching and assessment. As a result, students will improve their learning, engagement, and achievement. The school values the Spark of Genius in every child. Key Responsibilities

• Plan for outstanding teaching and assessment. Follow the school’s Teaching and Learning policies. Maintain high standards for punctuality, behaviour, uniform, and homework. Keep unit and lesson planning up to date and accurate. Ensure all planning meets IB and school requirements.
• Assess how well students meet learning objectives. Use assessment results to improve your teaching. Mark students’ work regularly. Set clear targets for progress. Moderate work with colleagues following the school’s feedback policy. Record student progress systematically. Use performance data to plan lessons and interventions. Prepare informative reports for parents.
• Recognise the Spark of Genius in every child. Follow the Dwight vision, mission, and pillars in all aspects of your role. For Upper School, serve as an Advisor or Co Advisor. Teach Moral Education as required. Keep the FireFly platform updated with planning and resources. Serve as a DP Extended Essay Supervisor, MYP Personal Project Supervisor, or PYP Exhibition Supervisor if needed.
• Undertake duties on the staff duty rota. Cover for absent colleagues when required. Invigilate or proctor examinations and assessments. Undertake relevant training and professional development. Support school events and activities including the ECA programme. Finally, collaborate actively in the Dwight and IB community. Build strong partnerships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

You need a degree in Art, Design, or a related subject. Qualified teacher status is essential. Experience teaching Art and Design in an upper or high school setting is required. The school looks for a passion for teaching. Experience in an International Baccalaureate school is desirable. Experience teaching IB MYP Visual Arts and MYP Design is also desirable. Experience teaching IB DP Design is a plus. A track record of outstanding teaching and learning is expected.
