The College of Computer Information Technology (CCIT) at the American University in the Emirates is presently inviting Ph.D. holder applicants for Adjunct/Part Time Faculty of Physics. Job Purpose of An Adjunct Faculty Physics

Provide students with professional expertise in teaching, assessing student work, academic advising, participating in administrative and committee activities, professional & community service.

Job Duties of An Adjunct Faculty Physics

• Instructional Delivery. Present research and practice driven teaching and adapt to latest pedagogical techniques that stimulate students to inquiry and to encompass a broad and coherent body of knowledge, attaining the skills and competencies through engaging delivery techniques and development of appropriate assessments.
• Instructional Management. Effectively manage the instructional processes.
• Assessment and Evaluation. Evaluate students performance/grading & provide clear assessment criteria that reflects course content and its learning outcomes.
• Curriculum Development and Review. Contribute to regular curriculum reviewing and improving the existing curriculum for quality and effectiveness.
• Professional Development. Acquire latest academic techniques, discipline and professional certification, technology related development and leadership development through attending in campus and out campus workshops, seminars and training.

Qualification & Experience

• Ph.D. in Physics or related field from an accredited university
• 18 credit hours of graduate studies in the required field.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching /working experience in an internationally accredited university.

The candidate must have either higher Education or Teaching experience in an accredited university in the United States of America.

• Record of excellence at baccalaureate and graduate program level teaching.

Additional Requirements?

• Minimum of 3 articles indexed in Scopus listed journals or 5 articles in peer reviewed journals in the past five years.
• Equivalency from Ministry of Education in UAE.
• WES Equivalency if the degree was not issued from United States.

Skills Desired

• Ability to integrate web based or digital technology in the classroom.
• Willingness to provide service to University and College.
• English proficiency & good communication skills.
