Job Purpose of A Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Provide necessary assistance to the construction team concerning all financial aspects and contractual matters in the project.
- He / she will be responsible for the review and approval of interim payments, project variations and other financial matters.
What You’ll Do As A Senior Quantity Surveyor At DAMAC
Managerial Responsibilities
- Manage & liaise with internal teams such as design / technical, budget, procurement, contracts, commercial and project management teams.
Functional Role (Pre Contract Stage)
- Prepare or review cost plans and BOQ’s in line with current bench marks.
- Update budgets bench marks.
- Forecast and coordinate cost of various trades including architecture, civil, structural, MEP & finishes for the project to finalize budgets for tender.
- Track changes during design development, bid stage and post contract construction stage to manage costs increase.
Functional Role (Post Contract Stage)
- Review all documentation in terms of advances, payment guarantees, bonds etc on submission.
- Submit the monthly interim payments and all substantiation documentations in order.
- Review and process interim payment certification in line with our business time lines.
- Review variations / claims submissions and prepare the required substantiation to approve / reject as required.
- Update the construction / projects budgets as per the payment certification and variations.
- Finalize variations & ensure sub contractor final accounts.
- Finalize main works contractor accounts.
Who Can Apply?
Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably) or Quantity Surveying, Construction Management.
or
- Master level Degree in related fields.
Experience
- 8 plus years of experience in pre post contract Quantity Surveyor works.
Skills Desired
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to deal with Executive Management members.
Technical Experience Desired
- Consultancy or client side experience.
- Experienced in cost monitoring, reporting and budget preparation.
- Experienced in main / sub contract / consultant procurements, claim/variations assessment and contracts administration is good to have.
- Good know how of full project life cycle.
