As a Process Designer at Duncan & Ross you will leverage extensive technical expertise in designing process systems within the oil and gas industry. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality execution of process design projects, meeting client specifications and industry regulations. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and effective process solutions from concept through detailed design and implementation. This is a mid level full time role. For this position salary can range between 15000 to 30000 AED/month.
Responsibilities of A Process Designer
- Develop and review detailed process design documents, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
- Conduct process simulations and analyses to optimize design performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and instrumentation engineers to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and team members.

- Perform design reviews, safety checks, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Prepare and present design proposals and reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and deliverables.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a Process Designer are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10-12 years of experience in process design within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience in developing and reviewing detailed process design documents.
- Experience with process safety and hazard analysis (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA).
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in process design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID, Aspen HYSYS).
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., PDMS, SP3D).
- Professional certification or licensure (e.g., P.Eng, PE).
- Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
