Jumeirah Group presently has job opening for eligible candidate for position of a Commis 1. The aspiring candidate will work at Jumeirah Beach Hotel (a subsidiary of Jumeirah Group) and join the bakery team in Dubai. This job has been posted by Jumeirah Group on 22 March and is now open for all desirous candidates.

Job Purpose of A Commis 1

A Commis is responsible for assisting chefs in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and learning culinary skills as part of kitchen staff.

Duties of A Commis 1

• To ensure all outlet reports, schedules, standard recipe, and correspondence are completed in liaison with the Sous chef and Chef De Cuisine.
• Preparation and presentation of variety of Asian, Arabic and European quality breads and breakfast pastries.
• To have a complete understanding of, and adhere to the company’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, and safety.
• Check the daily occupancy to arrange for product required for the next day production.
• Give tasks to Commis Chefs and check that they are carried out in the correct manner.
• To maintain kitchen equipment is in a good standard with minimum breakage.
• To check the incoming produce, ensuring that all food merchandise is in accordance with order sheet, receiving records and purchasing specifications.
• To follow strict hygiene rules and maintain already achieved with HACCP throughout the resort.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• Higher Secondary School or culinary degree.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Baker in a five-star hotel.

Certification

• Holding an internationally approved Food Safety Certificate.

Lignual Skills

• Proficiency in the English language.
