A Wound Care Nurse will support the provision of a wound care tissue viability service to all Wards and Departments across Reem Hospital. This position will provide expert clinical advice for the Wound Care Tissue Viability service. The post holder will support audit and writing/reviewing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of Wound Care Nurse

  • Work towards leading in: delivering training; nurse-led wound review clinic.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients are ready for discharge or referred appropriately, and timely, for on-going care.
  • The post holder be involved in collection; collation, analysis and reporting of data.
  • Advise on wound management strategies for patients as appropriate pending surveillance findings.
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary approach for efficient wound care management.
  • Participate in unit/departmental meetings and committees/projects as required.
  • Chair the Wound care link meetings and guides the link workers on best practices in wound care management.
  • Manages inventory of wound care-related equipment (Vac machines, wound cart, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external vendors for the procurement of special dressings and consumables.
  • Liaise with and update the Physicians and multidisciplinary team for any significant changes in the plan of care of wounds.

Position Requirements

To qualify for the role of Wound Care Nurse, following is required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
  • Postgraduate course in Wound Care / Tissue Viability Maintains valid, current RN licensure from own country.
  • BLS certified.
  • Certified proof of yearly CME.
