Job Purpose of A Thermal Desorption Units Operator

• TDU operators will work on a project which will involve the Thermal treatment of oil based drilled cuttings.
• Operate and maintain equipment that removes contaminants from soil, water, or other materials through thermal desorption processess.

Job Duties of A Thermal Desorption Units Operator

• Work in a safe manner in accordance with applicable practices, procedures and policies of NOV.
• Operate, maintain & troubleshoot thermal treatment or processing equipment for oil based drilling applications to a high standard.
• Investigate mechanical & electrical issues or improvements for best practices.
• Complete periodical reports on operations for both internal and external purposes.
• Report usage of materials at the work site through the relevant reports.
• Actively participate in personal trainings as identified by NOV.
• Maintain & repair the equipment as per NOV maintenance schedule stated in equipment manual & optimize equipment performance in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure detailed maintenance records of all equipment are compiled as requested by direct supervisor through the provided documentation formats and return this documentation at the end of each shift to your supervisor.
• Address any equipment performance concerns to direct supervisor.
• Maintain the job sheets correctly while working on equipment for proper documentation.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma or Certification in technical qualification i.e. mechanical / electrical etc.
• 3-5 years previous experience in Thermal Treatment / TDU operations.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Wider knowledge of Thermal & Waste Management process.
• Ability to clearly communicate with all personnel onsite and with the client in English.
• Computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
• Team player with a proactive approach to the tasks at hand.
