Responsibilities of A Structural Inspector
- Inspects site conditions to ensure suitability for the designed permanent works.
- Give practical advise on constructional matters.
- Inspect construction, including temporary, works to ensure compliance with approved methods and contract requirements.
- Maintain records of inspections, work executed, etc.
- Direct Inspectors and ensure performance.
- Assist in or measure work done when required.
- Observe site safety procedures.
- Assist in preparation of “as-built” drawings.
- Assist with inspection of completed works, prepare sang lists and handover to operating authority.
Requirements for Role of Structural Inspector
The eligibility requirements for role of Structural Inspector are as under:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university with minimum 5 years of experience in inspection and rehabilitation of bridges. OR
- Associate Diploma in Civil, or Structural Engineering with minimum 7 years experience in inspection and rehabilitation of bridge projects.
- Relative project work experience in Dubai, UAE, or GCC in an engineering consulting firm is preferable.
- Approval from clients and authorities in UAE will be added advantage.
Knowledge & Skills Desired
- Knowledge and experience using computer software such as MS Office, Maximo, Aconex and AutoCAD (Read only).
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
