About the Role
The Staff Nurse – ICU TP at American Hospital Dubai delivers comprehensive critical care nursing to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. You will conduct thorough assessments, manage complex monitoring equipment, and implement evidence-based care plans for haemodynamically unstable patients. Furthermore, you will collaborate within a high-performing critical care team to optimise outcomes. Advanced clinical skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for this demanding and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments on admission and throughout the care episode, identifying and prioritising clinical needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualised nursing care plans based on evidence-based practice guidelines
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately in accordance with physician orders
- Monitor and document vital signs, clinical observations, and patient responses to treatment in the EHR system
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate holistic, patient-centred care
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and post-discharge care
- Maintain a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control, hand hygiene, and patient safety protocols
- Respond promptly to patient deterioration, following BLS/ACLS protocols and escalating to the medical team as required
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university or nursing school
- Current DHA/HAAD nursing licence or documented eligibility for UAE nursing licensure
- Minimum 2 years of post-registration clinical experience in a relevant nursing specialty
- Valid BLS certification; ACLS or PALS certification required or preferred depending on the clinical area
- Proficiency in electronic health record documentation; Oracle Health experience is an advantage
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced hospital environment
