About the Role
The Staff Nurse in the MedSurg ICU at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through evidence-based nursing procedures. Furthermore, this position involves demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development, and psychosocial needs of critically ill medical and surgical patients. Moreover, the nurse collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and complete patient admission assessments in the MedSurg ICU
- Monitor and document patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions
- Establish and implement evidence-based care plans for medical-surgical critical care patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols
- Provide teaching and educational material to patients and families
- Lead the caregiver team in delivery of critical patient care across disciplines
- Facilitate patient safety and Magnet principles in clinical nursing practice
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support CCAD research initiatives
- Communicate patient clinical information clearly and accurately in medical records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required
- Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an acute care setting
- Valid and current national nursing license is required
- BLS from AHA or equivalent required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
- Experience with electronic medical records is strongly preferred
