About the Role
The Staff Nurse in the Cardiac ICU at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of evidence-based nursing procedures. Furthermore, this position requires demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development, and psychosocial needs of patients. Moreover, candidates with strong CVTS ICU experience or ECMO certification are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and complete patient admission assessments
- Monitor and document the patient’s condition and effectiveness of care and interventions
- Establish and implement care plans based on sound nursing theory and professional judgment
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols
- Provide teaching and educational material to patients and families
- Lead the caregiver team in delivery of patient care collaborating with other disciplines
- Facilitate incorporation of patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical nursing care
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support CCAD research initiatives
- Communicate patient clinical information clearly and accurately in medical records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required
- Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an acute care setting
- Valid and current national nursing license is required
- BLS required from AHA or equivalent; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment
- Strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and electronic medical records preferred
