Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) is currently hiring a Speech Language Therapist/Pathologist to join their Speech and Language Therapy department. Additionally, this full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for qualified SLPs to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services in a leading tertiary hospital.
About the Role
The Speech Language Therapist/Pathologist at SSMC provides quality professional services in the evaluation and treatment of patients with speech, language, cognitive, fluency, voice, swallowing, and feeding disorders. Furthermore, the role encompasses working with both adult and pediatric populations to develop and implement specialized treatment plans. Moreover, the successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal and external agencies to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evaluation and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement specialized speech and language treatment plans for adults and pediatric patients
- Conduct in-depth case histories including medical, social, psychological, and developmental information
- Perform standardized assessments with sound analytical clinical reasoning to form differential diagnoses
- Deliver therapy intervention ensuring communication programs are integral to patient daily routines
- Advise others regarding management and care of patients with communication and oro-motor difficulties
- Coordinate and work as a member of the SLP team providing efficient service delivery
- Provide timely individualized management involving families, carers, and educators with appropriate training
- Maintain up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge through CPD and CME activities
- Monitor equipment usage and maintain strict patient information confidentiality
Requirements
- BSc in Speech and Hearing, Speech Language Pathology, or Communications Sciences and Disorders
- Current National License or membership in a recognized international SLP agency
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in Speech and Hearing Sciences or Speech Language Pathology
- MSc in Speech Language Pathology preferred (reduces experience requirement by 1 year)
- Strong knowledge of standardized assessments and analytical clinical reasoning skills
- Experience working with both adult and pediatric populations with communication disorders
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for multidisciplinary team participation
