Job Description

Specialist Paediatrician ENT at NMC Healthcare in NMC Royal Hospital, DIP, Dubai, UAE will be providing routine and emergency diagnostic and therapeutic care to all eligible patients. Participates in the planning and implementation of integral preventative-curative medical care programs. Clinician functions individually, and as a member of the ENT department, providing the full range of diagnostic care for all disorders of the ears, nose, throat and head and neck regions, as appropriate, with medical treatment and surgical intervention being the active modalities of care.  Pathology of these areas, evaluation and treatment, includes but is not limited to, congenital, developmental, infectious or inflammatory, neoplastic, and traumatic presentations. Standards of care are in accord with those established by the facility. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 25000-55000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Specialist Paediatrician ENT

  • Performs professional duties of an otorhinolaryngologist.
  • To conduct assessment & re-assessment for all patients in the OPD, on admission, and prior to any procedure.
  • Provides consultation to other physicians when the problems fall into the field of ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery, and require the attention of a specialist.  This includes diagnosis and treatment if patient’s primary problem is in this field.
  • Completes medical records promptly indicating diagnosis, treatment, and future courses of action.  Records must conform to established requirements.
  • Participates in all group conferences requiring the viewpoint and opinions of this specialty regarding difficult medical cases.
  • Collaborates with other departmental personnel in planning programs integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care.
  • Is responsible for the operation of approved curative-preventive programs as they relative to his particular field.
  •  Daily answers questions concerning irregular work and problems that arise in the group such as handling technical, safety and accident problems.
  • Monitors work of other assigned staff to the Otorhinolaryngology Service for quality, quantity, correctness, etc.. Demonstrating procedures or recommending additional training as required.
  • Attends staff meetings and participates in in-service activities as requested.
  • Contacts HOD for clarification or to keep him informed of unusual situations or problems encountered and actions taken.
  • Supports Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature.
  • Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
  • Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department.
  • To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Requirements for Role of Specialist Paediatrician ENT

  • Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency; certification by the American Board of Otorhinolaryngologist or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
  • At least three (3) years of practice as an otorhinolaryngologist since certification with two (2) or more years as a licensed specialist.
  • Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice as a consultant ENT in Dubai, UAE.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership. Must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of  work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients.
