Emirates Flight Catering

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing the social media strategy for Emirates Flight Catering and delivering on key business objectives as it relates to the Group’s social media presence.  With social media forming a critical component of the integrated marketing mix, candidate will play a key role in telling the story of all Emirates Flight Catering’s brands to consumers, partners and other stakeholders on social media, expanding global visibility, building brand advocacy amongst new audiences and creating loyal customers.  Job holder will collaborate across departments to support and protect brand, ensuring consistent messaging is maintained.  Also will develop and maintain sound relationships with all stakeholders in the Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand department, the wider Emirates Group, agencies and suppliers. Will proactively manage business critical issues as they arise, in collaboration with Manager and relevant parties.

Responsibilities of Social Media Specialist

  • Plan and execute the Emirates Flight Catering social media strategy, in conjunction and close collaboration with the Line Manager, as well as specialist teams within the Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand department.
  • Work alongside external agencies and vendors to ensure the Emirates Flight Catering social media strategy is being executed and agreed initiatives are implemented appropriately.
  • Manage the day-to-day social media operations and activities in support of Emirates Flight Catering brands and agreed business objectives.
  • Drive visibility and advocacy for the company’s major business initiatives and products.
  • Develop creative, engaging social media content that communicates key business messages and objectives to relevant audiences.
  • Maintain relevance, differentiation and sustainability of Emirates Flight Catering’s social media presence through content, community and channel management.
  • Maintain and continue to evolve Emirates Flight Catering’s presence on all social media platforms, well as popular industry relevant sites intended to manage advocacy, increase brand awareness and drive traffic to the Group websites.
  • Identify and proactively present social media opportunities as they arise.
  • Create materials in support of the social media strategy which improves brand advocacy, enhances reputation and builds strong relationships through everyday interactions and conversations.
  • Identify and build relationships with prominent personalities, influencers and industry professionals in an effort to develop them as brand advocates.
  • Track & share real-time trends and emerging themes across social media and the wider digital landscape with Line Manager & the broader Public Relations and Social Media team.
  • Monitor, measure and analyze the effectiveness of social media content and initiatives. Generate clear, accurate and concise performance reports for various stakeholders as required.

What you will do more

  • Capture customer and target audience sentiment, attitude and opinions across social media and report on these to drive business insights. This includes competitor research and industry benchmarking.
  • Establish & maintain positive relationships with key influencers.
  • Identify Group team members and/or PR managers/PR agencies that could monitor and influence these relationships.
  • Be an advocate for social media within the broader Emirates Group.
  • Inform and educate key partners and stakeholders on new developments within the social media and digital landscape.
  • Proactively develop proposals on how these can be integrated into the broader social media strategy to achieve business objectives.

Requirements for Role of Social Media Specialist

  • Degree or Honors (12+3 or equivalent).
  • 5+ Years in social media, public relations, corporate communications, or marketing, with additional experience in content creation, copywriting and storytelling.
  • Experience in online community management is desirable.
  • 1 year contract.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent storytelling skills and an understanding of how that applies to social media to ensure that formats, tone and style is appropriate for different platforms.
  • A keen eye for visuals and aesthetics to ensure quality and consistency across all types of digital content.
  • Strong knowledge of the online landscape and digital technology, including social media platforms and digital marketing toolsets.
  • Excellent understanding of how social media fits into digital marketing, advertising, public relations and crisis communications strategies.
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills.
  • Skills in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar content creation tools is desirable.
