About the Role
The Senior Registered Nurse at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai will assess patient needs, develop plans of care, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Furthermore, the role involves supervising nursing staff within the unit, monitoring staffing levels and patient acuity, and ensuring all care is delivered in full compliance with AZHD policies and DHA clinical standards. Moreover, the Senior Registered Nurse will act as a clinical resource and mentor to junior staff while contributing to quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee unit and ward nursing activities to ensure efficient, patient-centred care delivery.
- Ensure all nursing care is delivered in accordance with AZHD policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Monitor staffing levels and patient acuity to ensure adequate resources and continuity of patient care.
- Serve as a champion for electronic medical record adoption and mentor staff in its effective use.
- Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and nursing staff to facilitate clear communication.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and goals utilising evidence-based performance improvement models.
- Monitor patient satisfaction results, communicate findings to staff, and lead initiatives to improve outcomes.
- Complete nursing staff performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback regularly.
- Serve as a specialist clinical resource in nursing practices specific to the ward or department.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health team to consistently achieve high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing programme of a minimum duration of three (3) years, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current valid registration in country of training and/or most recent country of employment.
- Valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) Nursing License or eligibility to obtain DHA licensure.
- Minimum 5 years of post-registration clinical nursing experience with demonstrated seniority.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and staff development skills.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and interpersonal communication abilities.
