About the Role

The Receptionist Cum Cashier at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient reception experience. Furthermore, the role involves processing patient payments, verifying insurance eligibility, and maintaining accurate administrative records in the hospital management system. Moreover, the Receptionist Cum Cashier will coordinate closely with clinical and billing departments to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate financial documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors at the reception desk, assess their needs and direct them appropriately.
• Register new and returning patients in the HMS and open medical files as required.
• Process patient payments accurately and issue invoices for all services rendered.
• Verify and process insurance cards, explaining coverage, co-payments, and deductibles to patients.
• Liaise with the billing and insurance department to resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
• Handle incoming telephone calls and redirect queries to the appropriate team or department.
• Schedule, confirm, and follow up on patient appointments in coordination with clinical staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure all administrative records are accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate with the medical records department to retrieve and file patient charts as needed.
• Support other front-desk and administrative functions as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Certificate or Diploma in a relevant administrative or business field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic reception and cashier role.
• Familiarity with Hospital Management Systems (HMS) and insurance billing procedures in the UAE.
• Strong customer service and communication skills in English; Arabic is a significant advantage.
• Professional appearance, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage high patient volumes calmly.
• Sound knowledge of UAE health insurance regulations and TPA processes.
