About the Role

The Receptionist Cum Cashier at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai is responsible for the courteous and efficient reception of patients, recording information required for registration in the hospital system, and providing clear directions to patients. Furthermore, the role involves accepting payments and performing clerical duties including managing patient appointments, maintaining logs, and preparing statistics. Moreover, the position requires close coordination with clinical and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient experience at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors arriving at the outpatient clinics, ascertain their needs and assist accordingly.
• Register patients in the hospital system upon arrival and open new patient charts as required.
• Accept payments and generate invoices for amounts paid by patients.
• Enlighten patients about the cost of consultations, procedures, laboratory tests, radiology, and medications.
• Verify patient insurance cards and clearly explain coverage, deductibles, and co-payment requirements.
• Ascertain the financial status of the patient and verify insurance details using the HMS system.
• Respond to and direct telephone calls and personal inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
• Remind patients of upcoming appointments and direct them to the correct clinic or department.
• Complete general consent forms for new patients and maintain updated contact information in the system.
• Assist in the orientation of new employees as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
• Prior experience in a receptionist or cashier role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in Hospital Management Systems (HMS) is a distinct advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Ability to handle work-related stress and maintain composure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Good understanding of medical insurance processes, deductibles, and co-payment procedures.
