The Arbor School is looking for a nurturing, creative, and reflective Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to join its primary team. This full time role involves supporting children’s transition from Early Years Foundation Stage and establishing strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and personal development. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Key Stage 1 students following the National Curriculum for England. Focus on literacy, numeracy, and personal development through developmentally appropriate practice.
• Create a safe, joyful, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported. Use exploration and structured play to make learning meaningful and fun.
• Assess student progress regularly using ongoing formative and summative methods. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents to support continuous improvement.
• Build strong partnerships with families, communicating openly about student progress and wellbeing. Work closely with colleagues to share best practice and collaborate on cross curricular projects.
• Support children’s transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1, ensuring smooth progression. Help young learners develop confidence, curiosity, and independence.
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school, bringing your passions and interests to enrich the community. Finally, commit to continuous professional growth and meet agreed deadlines.

Qualifications

You need native level English language skills. A bachelor degree in Education, or a bachelor degree with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent, is essential. A minimum of two years of experience teaching Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 in British schools is required. You must have a track record of outstanding teaching and learning and the ability to create a caring and nurturing classroom environment.
