Primary MFL Teacher (Spanish & French) – Maternity Cover Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Full-time

The British School Al Khubairat is looking for a Primary MFL Teacher who can teach both Spanish and French to cover a six month maternity leave from August 2026 until late February 2027. This full time temporary role is based in Abu Dhabi and is open to qualified teachers with a relevant degree and a PGCE. Key Responsibilities for Primary MFL Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish and French lessons for primary students in Year 2 through Year 6. Follow the school’s curriculum and adapt lessons to suit different age groups and ability levels.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback. Use a variety of teaching methods including games, songs, and stories to make language learning fun and effective.
• Create a positive classroom environment where every child feels encouraged to participate. Build students’ confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in both Spanish and French.
• Work closely with primary class teachers to integrate language learning into wider topics. Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and upcoming learning goals.
• Participate in staff meetings and school events as required. Finally, maintain high standards of behaviour and safeguarding at all times.

Qualifications

You need a relevant degree in Spanish, French, Education, or a related field. A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is essential. You should possess relevant primary teaching experience and be able to teach Key Stages 1 and 2. Native or near native proficiency in both Spanish and French is required.
