About the Role

The Pharmacist at Reem Hospital will be responsible for proactively assisting in providing patients and clinical providers with therapeutic assessments and selected disease management. Furthermore, the role involves working toward improving patient and clinical practice outcomes within the pharmacy department. Moreover, the successful candidate will ensure the delivery of international standards of care in accordance with established national and international practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and fill medications accurately prior to the pharmacist final check and verification process.
• Perform double checks on order entry for all prescriptions and medication orders received.
• Calculate accurate quantities of medication for unit dose cassettes, pre-packing, and prescriptions.
• Measure and prepare IV medications for TPN and IV admixtures following correct aseptic techniques.
• Monitor medication expiry dates, flag early expiries with labels, and rotate inventory accordingly.
• Contribute to developing pharmacy service standards and ensure they are consistently met across departments.
• Support the reporting of all adverse events, incidents, and near misses within the pharmacy department.
• Participate in quality management activities, including the hospital accreditation process.
• Coordinate ward stock inspections and maintain accurate records of stock issues to all departments.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of clinical and non-clinical staff.

Requirements

• Diploma in Pharmacy program with a minimum of two years course duration from a recognised institution.
• Not less than 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician within an acute care hospital setting.
• Valid and current pharmacy licensure from the home country along with BLS certification.
• Knowledge of UAE Health Regulations and international accreditation experience is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
