Job Description

Mediclinic UAE has a job opening for qualified & motivated candidate for the position of a Medical Laboratory Technologist Transfusion Medicine. The selected candidate will work at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital located in Abu Dhabi. This job has recently been posted by Mediclinic and is now open for aspiring candidates.

Job Purpose of A Medical Laboratory Technologist

To perform routine laboratory tests in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and guidelines.

Your Duties As A Medical Laboratory Technologist

  • Perform haematology and blood transfusions according to professional standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor sample management, including sorting and allocation based on testing requirements.
  • Process haematology, coagulation and blood transfusion tests and related laboratory functions.
  • Result analysis and verification of accuracy of findings.
  • Contribute to relevant quality improvement initiatives aimed at mitigating risks, compliance governance and increased patient safety.
  • Actively contribute and guide, where needed, relevant training and health and safety initiatives.
  • Operate, calibrate, and monitor effective functioning of standard laboratory equipment that includes analyzers and maintenance of temperature logs.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 3-5 years’ full time experience as a laboratory technologist in haematology and transfusion medicine.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Correct maintenance of instrumentation according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Developing standard operating procedures.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Knowledge of real time multiplex PCR and close molecular systems.
  • Knowledgeable in laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and instrumentation troubleshooting.
  • Laboratory information systems and reporting.
