Job Purpose of A Mechanic

  • Installation of various instruments and electronic equipment on board or in the customer’s plant.
  • Also assist Technician (Instrument) on board.

Your job Duties As A Mechanic At Dubai Ports World Dubai

  • Troubleshoot, check, inspect, repair and calibrate simple electronic equipment / instruments.
  • Troubleshoot, check, inspect, repair and calibrate simple pneumatic equipment / instruments.
  • Installation of various instruments and electronic equipment on board.
  • Perform duties of a Foreman as required / appointed for individual projects.
  • Ensure materials are of required standard prior to use, reporting damages when required.
  • Work within allocated time scale to meet department targets.
  • Attend training for any activity required by the department such as instruments / equipment training.
  • Maintain good house keeping in all work areas.
  • Follow the day to day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • High School Diploma.
  • 2 years relevant trade apprentice course / Shipyard training.

Certification

  • Secondary School & Trade certificate or any other relevant qualification.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in marine, oil & gas and off shore industry.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Reading and understanding electrical / electronic drawings and symbols.
  • Familiar with electronic terms and safety precautions.
  • Select and use appropriate measuring / testing devices / tools.
  • Read and understand technical drawings.
  • Select and use appropriate tools, instruments, equipment, materials and machines.
  • Apply knowledge of appropriate engineering principles, techniques and procedures.
