About the Role
The Insurance Manager at Mediclinic Middle East is responsible for managing the operations of the insurance function at the hospital level. Furthermore, this role involves preventing and mitigating financial risks for the company in an effective and efficient manner. Moreover, the successful candidate will oversee the insurance team and ensure compliance with all relevant payer audits and processes. In addition, the position requires strong leadership and operational management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the insurance team at business unit level and ensure optimal performance
- Lead daily operational management of the insurance function across the hospital
- Monitor and manage all insurance processes, including compliance with payer audits
- Provide relevant training to Front Office and hospital employees on insurance procedures
- Coordinate knowledge transfer to prevent potential financial risks for the company
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks effectively
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of insurance operations and workflows
- Promote best practices in insurance coding and claims management
- Manage relationships with insurance providers and third-party administrators
Requirements
- A formal clinical or coding qualification is essential
- MBBS or Physiotherapy qualification is desired
- At least 5 years of insurance experience in a hospital, insurance, or TPA setting
- Minimum 2 years of experience in managing or supervising a team
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT, HCPCS, CDT, and DSLK coding systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in medical terminology and negotiation skills
