The University of Khorfakkan needs an experienced English Language Instructor to teach service courses such as Academic English, EAP, ESP, and Communication Skills. This full time role involves helping undergraduate students from various academic disciplines develop their reading, writing, listening, speaking, and study skills. You will apply sound TESOL and ESL pedagogical approaches suitable for higher education learners. In addition, you will contribute to curriculum design and course improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Teach English language service courses to undergraduate students. Cover Academic English, EAP, ESP, and Communication Skills. Support students in developing reading, writing, listening, speaking, and academic study skills.
• Apply sound TESOL, ESL, and EFL pedagogical approaches suitable for higher education learners. Use educational technologies and digital platforms to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
• Contribute to the design, review, and continuous improvement of skill oriented English language courses. Ensure alignment with program learning outcomes and institutional benchmarks. Prepare and update course syllabi, instructional materials, assessments, and learning resources.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students. Be sensitive to bilingual and multilingual learners. Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum review processes, and quality assurance activities.
• Engage in ongoing professional development. Stay current with developments in English language teaching and applied linguistics. Finally, contribute positively to the collegial and academic environment of the College and the University.

Qualifications

You need native proficiency in English (Anglophone). A Master degree in English Language, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related discipline is essential. Five to ten years of teaching experience in higher education is required, preferably in university level ESL or EFL contexts. You must have demonstrated experience teaching English to non English major students in academic or professional programs. A recognized TESOL certification or equivalent professional teaching qualification is also required. Proven experience in curriculum development, course review, and assessment design for skill based English language courses is necessary. Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience teaching bilingual or multilingual students, especially those from Arabic speaking backgrounds. Familiarity with CEFR aligned curricula and outcomes based assessment is desirable. Prior experience in Gulf region higher education institutions is also a plus.
