Role of Infectious Disease Physician

Responsible for playing his / her role in infection prevention and control while assessing and evaluating care for both inpatient and outpatient cases.

Duties of Infectious Disease Physician

• Provide education and guidance on Infectious Disease to Residents and Hospitalists.
• Active leadership participation in Infection Prevention and control.
• Participate in Antibiotic stewardship.
• Inpatient and outpatient clinic duties include new consults and post-hospitalization follow-up, IV antibiotics, and HIV consults and management.
•  Participate in night and weekend call coverage.
• Assist with activities of infection control and the hospital epidemiology programs.
• Outpatient consultation including outpatient HIV and Hepatitis C patient treatment.
• Provide Inpatient consultations at Backus Hospital.
• Provide wound care to prevent infection.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Degree in Medicine.
• At least 3 years of Infectious Disease experience.
• Board Certification – Infectious diseases.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
