About the Role

As a Humanities Teacher at Yas American Academy, you will deliver inspiring lessons that help students achieve the best possible outcomes across the humanities curriculum. Furthermore, you will plan engaging sessions catering for the full ability range while embedding the Yas American Academy Teacher and Learner DNA throughout your teaching. Moreover, you will use assessment data through Target Tracker to track student progress and inform planning and intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver humanities lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve outstanding outcomes
• Plan, prepare, and present sessions catering for the whole ability range
• Organise classroom resources and displays to create a positive learning environment
• Assess and record student progress using Target Tracker
• Use assessment data to influence planning, provision, and intervention
• Manage classes effectively and maintain high expectations of behaviour
• Communicate with parents regarding student achievements at conferences and meetings
• Run weekly extra-curricular activities and contribute to school events

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed. or PGCE
• Experience in teaching AP, IB, or A-Levels standard
• Experience in an international school is an advantage
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
• A clean enhanced DBS check or police check
