Job Purpose of A Hostess

Welcomes and guides guests, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth seating process at restaurants, events or establishments, while providing excellent customer service.

Your Job Duties As A Hostess At DAMAC Group UAE

  • Represent the outlet with a genuine smile and greetings at the reception.
  • Well groomed as per company standards throughout the shift.
  • Display friendly and pleasant attitude towards guests and colleagues.
  • Set up the host/hostess stand, review the reservation book and make recommendations as to the setup of the room.
  • Open the restaurant for business at the prescribed time each shift.
  • Inspect the cleanliness of each section of the dining room and make necessary improvements as well as check each table prior to opening to ensure its proper set.
  • Pick up the daily menus and insert them properly in their covers.
  • Inspect every menu and list to ensure their immaculate condition and appearance.
  • Ensure each guest receives the highest quality of service.
  • Ensuring maximum flexibility and support extended for any guest request.
  • Ensure fondly bid farewell to every customer that departs the restaurant and invite them back.
  • Handle guests without reservations or those waiting for others to join them.
  • Ensure all guests are explained of the buffet set up and offer further assistance.
  • Answer telephones according to standards and take reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service.
  • Ensure side stations, menus, magazines and the hostess desk is clean and tidy before closing the shift.
  • Support and assist the service team for additional tasks.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification

  • Essential: High school Diploma.
  • Desirable: Hotel School Degree or diploma or equivalent. Up selling skills training, HACCP WSET level 1 or equivalent

Experience 

  • 2-3 years Food and Beverage experience. 
  • 2 years minimum experience in a similar role in a 5 star international environment.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Able to work with speed and efficiency throughout, maintaining positive attitude.
