About the Role

Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking an outstanding Head of Year in Early Years to join the school commencing August 2026. Additionally, this leadership position involves planning for outstanding teaching and learning in line with the school’s policies while creating a climate conducive to outstanding practice. Furthermore, the successful candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of implementing effective strategies to raise standards and ensure outstanding progress for all students. Key Responsibilities

As Head of Year in Early Years, you will identify clear teaching and learning objectives while setting clear targets that build on prior attainment. Moreover, you will identify SEN, EAL, and gifted and talented students and ensure their needs are met through effective differentiation. In addition, you will make effective use of assessment for learning and performance data to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons. Furthermore, you will mark students’ work regularly, assess and record progress systematically, and prepare informative reports to parents. You will also meet with professionals such as speech therapists and educational psychologists as required, and attend parent and student events.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification. Additionally, a minimum of six years of teaching experience with experience in the UK curriculum is required. Moreover, candidates should demonstrate leadership skills and experiences at various levels along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team. Furthermore, knowledge of current developments in education, child protection, and safeguarding is essential. Experience of working in more than one international school and the ability to work under pressure are highly valued.
