Head of Mathematics at Mamoura British Academy Abu Dhabi Full-time

Mamoura British Academy is seeking an outstanding Head of Mathematics for the Middle and Senior School for the Academic Year 2026-2027. This leadership position is based in Abu Dhabi at a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of the city. Furthermore, the successful candidate will lead the Mathematics department, driving academic excellence across I/GCSE and A Level programmes. Additionally, Mamoura British Academy strives for excellence through high expectations and a bespoke learning approach centred on the Mamoura Learner, Teacher, and Values DNA.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Mathematics, you will develop and implement departmental policies reflecting the school’s vision and commitment to high standards. Additionally, you will establish, monitor, and evaluate development plans, using data to identify underachieving students and create targeted support plans. Moreover, your duties include ensuring curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression for all students, establishing clear assessment policies, and setting high expectations for teaching quality. Furthermore, you will performance manage your team, hold regular department meetings, manage the department’s resource and capital expenditure budgets, and contribute to the school’s ECA Programme. In addition, you will serve as an Academic Mentor to Year 11, 12, and 13 students and support examination invigilation.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject along with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification. Additionally, a minimum of six years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum is required. Furthermore, candidates should be outstanding teachers with experience teaching across the age and ability range with proven success. Moreover, experience working in international schools is desirable, along with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to the school’s vision, and a passion for education. The ability to work under pressure and commitment to continuing professional development are also essential.
