Head of Development Majid Al Futtaim

The Stocker Emiratization at Majid Al Futtaim will be responsible for leading the strategic and business planning of projects alongside the relevant external/internal partners/heads. The Head of Development will deliver a strategy that supports the day-to-day management of productions, and longer-term objectives for growth and efficiency. This is the senior level full time role. The salary for this role ranges from 15000 AED to 30000 AED, which may be slightly negotiatable during the interview.

Responsibilities of Head of Development

Strategy, Planning & Leadership

• Developing and managing the yearly development slate & it’s budget.
• Signing off on estimated production budget per project prior to greenlighting.
• Oversee and supervise VOX Studios films throughout inception to the final draft.
• Building a network of writers, readers and development producers.
• Leads a team of development producers and manage the day-to-day operation.
• Collaborating with the writer, director, and other key members of the creative teams to ensure each project meets VOX Studios creative vision & strategy.
• Assisting in identifying new projects, talents, review & feeding back on all incoming pitch materials, participate in pitch meetings & content discussion.
• Contribute to set up relevant internal processes & templates.
• Preparing relevant documentation for the internal process for greenlighting Film Projects.
• Being part of all key decisions connected to the project.
• Ensures commissioning requirements are fully understood to develop viable proposals.
• Responsible for briefing legal & business affairs on commissioned development.
• Collaborating with legal counsel on all aspect of the projects i.e reviewing and commenting on deal terms, contracts, annexes & schedules etc.
• Responsible for updating & collaborating with Finance on all relevant financial aspects related to the development slate i.e tracking, cost report, payment schedules etc.
• Ensures physical production and editorial aspirations are aligned.
• Responsible for planning and managing capacity (resources and people) in line with strategic objectives and commissions.
• Oversees assessment of the financial viability of content ideas, identifying and mitigating any risks.
• Develops and implements the operational and financial strategy linked to long-term content strategy while highlighting, balancing and mitigating areas of risk.
• Monitors and reports on performance against objectives and key performance indicators.
• Builds long term relationships with internal and external stakeholders and productive working relationships with team members and external contacts.
• Meets regularly with different production department heads to ensure alignment & open communication.

Manage media assets

• Responsible for supporting the development of policy and guidelines relating to metadata and media assets.
• Handles any risk & compliance issues which arise during the production.
• Alignment with Marketing & promotion teams to create a strategy to promote and create a buzz for each project.
• Working closely with commercial & finance team for any potential brand integration opportunity.
• Accountable for ensuring robust processes are in place throughout the production process for fully and accurately capturing and managing metadata in line MAF policies and procedure.
• Ensures information and archives have the necessary information to efficiently manage, retain and delete media assets.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a Head of Development are as under:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• 3-5 years of experience in similar role.
