GCSE and A Level Geography lessons are delivered to inspire students about the physical and human world. A creative and enthusiastic approach is expected both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities for Geography Teacher Gems Metropole School

The following tasks will be performed by the Geography Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging GCSE and A Level Geography lessons that meet curriculum standards

• Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessment methods

• Provide constructive feedback to help students develop analytical and spatial thinking skills

• Build strong, respectful relationships with students, colleagues, and parents through excellent interpersonal skills

• Embody and role model the school’s core values of curiosity, confidence, creativity, respect, and kindness

• Contribute actively to the extra curricular programme and community based events

• Use the school’s unique outdoor facilities including the forest and farm to enhance geographical learning

• Follow all safeguarding and behaviour management policies consistently

Qualifications

A BEd or bachelor’s degree is required. A PGCE or PGDE must also be held. Proven qualified experience teaching GCSE and A Level Geography is essential. A proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching is expected. Excellent interpersonal skills must be demonstrated. A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching is required. A UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a pre requisite for all appointments. A clean criminal background check covering the previous ten years of employment history will be required.
