General Practitioner Pediatrics Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi

The General Practitioner – Pediatrics at Reem Hospital is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care. He/ She will be effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing, and treating all patients placed under the post holder’s. The General Practitioner is expected to be an example of clinical excellence within his or her specialty and to provide leadership and training for junior medical staff.

Responsibilities of General Practitioner Pediatrics

• Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases and injuries of pediatric patients by reviewing the history and clinical records of the patient.
• Performing appropriate physical examination, ordering and interpreting appropriate laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribing appropriate medication and treatment.
• Records findings, plan and treatment in the patient’s chart or electronic medical record if available.
• Practices preventative medicine whenever possible, such as anticipatory counseling for parents on age appropriate subjects.
• Providing age appropriate screening examinations, testing and immunizations.
• Manage patients that meet requirement to be admitted to the pediatric critical care unit.
• Manage CPAP setting, perform lumbar punctures, peripheral/ central line insertion as well as other procedures applicable to the critical care unit.

Position Requirements

Following is the selection criteria for the role of General Practitioner – Pediatrics (Critical Care) at Reem Hospital;

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Medical School.
• Candidates with a membership or fellowship in pediatrics are highly preferable.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience as GP Pediatrics in Critical Care and acute care.

Professional License

• DOH/DHA/MOH License or eligibility as General Practitioner.
