General Ledger Accountant at Dolphin Energy is required to perform detailed accounting duties relating to GL accounting including the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets ledger as per Dolphin Energy’s policies & procedures and in accordance with DPSA requirements ensuring data integrity. Duties Of General Ledger Accountant

  • Assist in the accurate timely maintenance of GL and financial records, including receivables, cash and banks, employees’ payments, petty cash.
  • Maintaining records for assets and inventory in accordance with DPSA and International Accounting Standards.
  • Record all GL entries pertaining to staff payments, asset transfers, and any other work as assigned by the Head of General Ledger/ Manager General Ledger in SAP.
  • Ensuring accuracy and the allocation of cost codes, upon receiving approval from relevant authorities, as per standard financial and accounting procedures.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, as directed by Head of General Ledger/ Manager General Ledger to record transactions, accruals and adjustments.
  • Reconcile  various GL accounts by month-end and year-end ensuring  accurate and timely closing of account books.
  • Undertake reconciliation of various GL accounts (i.e. bank accounts, accruals, prepaid assets etc.) for monthly financial report.
  • Comply with Dolphin Energy’s Financial Policies and Procedures.
  • Update and reconcile the fixed asset register each month along with the GL.
  • To ensure that proper coding of assets is done as per Dolphin Energy’s policy and in accordance with the DPSA requirements.
  •  Analyze month end accruals, and provide variances for increase or decrease in accruals between the months
  • Analyze and perform variance analysis on various expenditure accounts.
  • Prepare necessary schedules of GL for Audit purposes as and when required.
  • Maintain all accounting records in a properly labeled format to facilitate efficient filing.
  • Monitor the funds received as tender fee, sale of all products, sale of scrape etc., from customer and maintain a periodic reconciliation and aging record.
  • Conduct physical counts of inventory, spare parts and fixed assets and reconcile with accounting ledgers in SAP.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Head of General Ledger/ Manager General Ledger.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for the role of General Ledger Accountant are as under.

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the relevant field.
