About the Role
The Consultant Physician in Neurosurgery at SSMC will provide specialized primary and surgical care for patients suffering from neurological injuries and complex conditions. Furthermore, the role involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological disorders, prescribing medications, and recommending lifestyle changes. Moreover, the successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a state-of-the-art medical facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine patients, take comprehensive medical histories, and address patients’ concerns and questions
- Diagnose and treat neurological injuries, illnesses, and disorders using advanced medical techniques
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and clearly explain results to patients
- Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and other lifestyle modifications
- Update patients’ charts and medical records to reflect current findings and treatments
- Recommend and design individualized treatment plans for neurosurgery patients
- Prescribe appropriate medications and therapeutic interventions
- Consult with fellow physicians and refer patients to specialists when necessary
- Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals
- Comply with all medical laws, regulations, and hospital policies
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS/MD) with successful completion of a residency and internship in Neurosurgery
- Valid medical license and certification to practice medicine in the UAE or eligibility for DOH licensure
- Extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Commitment to staying up to date on advancements and innovations in neurosurgery
