Role of Clinical Pathologist

Responsible for analyzing body fluids and tissue samples for diagnosis, disease study, or treatment purposes, as well as perform various types of laboratory testing.

Responsibilities of Clinical Pathologist

• Supervise all laboratory sections.
• Plan for the efficient and effective scheduling and utilization of personnel equipment, resources and supplies.
• Manage the Quality Assurance Program. Review standards and quality control of technical procedures.
• Assess the value of new procedures, products and equipment for utilization by the laboratory.
• Recommend on the selection of laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Plan, administer and enforce appropriate policies, procedures and practices.
• Selection of test methodology appropriate for the clinical use of the test results.
• Identify training needs and assure that each individual performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed.
• Ensure that the physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are appropriate for the testing performed.
• Provide a safe environment in which employees are protected from physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
• Select and monitor laboratory suppliers.
• Design and implement a contingency plan to ensure that essential services are available during emergency situations or other conditions when laboratory services are limited or unavailable.

Education & Experience

• Degree in medicine & Residency in relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Valid and active DHA license.
