Key Responsibilities

1. Arrange with MOH, HAAD, and DHA clinical placement departments. Get approvals for student cohorts before each semester begins.
2. Provide an orientation for students at clinical sites. Cover schedules, parking, evaluation methods, and overall responsibilities. Support faculty in developing and upgrading clinical skills logbooks and assessments.
3. Review each student’s portfolio. Tailor activities based on their previous exposure, goals, and areas of weakness. Identify and assign appropriate projects that align with clinical rotation objectives.
4. Monitor student progress to ensure they meet stated objectives. Serve as a role model and mentor. Answer student questions and share your knowledge and skills.
5. Maintain student confidentiality at all times. Facilitate interactions with management and other health care professionals at clinical practice sites.
6. Assess student competence to identify strengths and address weaknesses. Complete written and verbal mid rotation and final rotation evaluations. Discuss student progress and address any concerns.
7. Complete a final student placement evaluation. Report any concerns or issues to faculty. Communicate with the Curriculum Leader and Academic Chair as soon as problems arise.
8. Maintain a current CV and provide a copy to the Academic Chair or HR department when requested. Remember that your role includes being a manager, teacher, and mentor. Stimulate student interest in all aspects of clinical practice. Encourage innovative thinking and approaches. Finally, complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You need a master degree in nursing, medical lab, health informatics, or paramedicine. A minimum of three years of clinical experience in your specialized discipline is required. You must hold a valid license in your country of qualification and be able to obtain UAE licensure. Strong interpersonal skills, innovation, teamwork, leadership, and organizational ability are essential. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. You need effective presentation and demonstration skills for both theory and practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. A high degree of computer literacy and the ability to integrate technology into teaching are necessary. Current knowledge of your discipline, trends, and issues is expected. Evidence of a personal professional development plan is required. Experience with computed tomography, fluoroscopy, and operating theatre is highly recommended. For nursing, experience with high fidelity simulation equipment is preferred. Clinical teaching experience in your specialized discipline is also preferred.
