Job Description
Cardiovascular Technician in Cardiology Services at SSMC performs Cardiac Diagnostic and Interventional (if applicable) techniques including Cardiac Echocardiography, Cardiac Stress testing, Cardiac Catheterizations and interventions, device implant and follow up and Ambulatory Cardiac Procedures. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 10000-20000 AED/month.
Responsibilities
- Patient preparation and education
- Observations of haemodynamic, structural and vascular cardiology investigations (where applicable)
- Conducts Cardiology Investigations with correct management of haemodynamic, ultrasound and mapping equipment (where applicable)
- Demonstrates an understanding or desire to learn advanced imaging/recording techniques.
- Prepares report for physician review and sign off.
- Actively participate in departmental training, clinical audits and improvement projects.
- Effectively participates in departmental activities to enhance teamwork.
- Selection, management and efficient use of appropriate consumables.
- Appropriate calibration and review of equipment with escalation of defects in line with facility wide policy.
- Meticulous and timely documentation and reporting within the patient medical record.
- Prompt reporting and escalation of all Cardiac Critical Results.
Requirements for Role of Cardiovascular Technician
- BSc in Radiography plus a Program certificate in Sonography (NLT 1 year syllabus).
- Bsc in Sonography accredited Program (NLT 3 year syllabus).
- Associate Degree in Sonography (NLT 2 year syllabus) and registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, UK
- HPC, Australian Sonographer accreditation Registry, Ireland Department of Health and Children, New Zealand – Australasian Society for ultrasound in Medicine, South African Health Professional Council (as Radiographer).
- Â Master’s in Medical Imaging or relevant clinical Msc in related field. (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience)
- Current National License
- 2 years post-graduate experience in ultrasound in an acute care hospital, Including Doppler, obstetrics/gynecology and abdominal sonography (of which NLT 2 years’ experience as a senior ultrasound radiographer in an acute care hospital).
- 4 years post-graduate experience in ultrasound in an acute care hospital, Including Doppler, obstetrics/gynecology and abdominal sonography.
