Dubai Ports (DP) World is looking for a driven, proactive, curious, collaborative Group Manager Audit Services, Quality & Excellence (ASQE) to join their DP World Group Internal Audit (“GIA”) team and manager their ASQE team.  As a Group Manager within their team, you are responsible to support the Group Chief Internal Auditor to provide a robust and effective service to all GIA sub sections covering key department activities such as strategy, governance, methodology and reporting etc. Administer the various tools, systems and modules falling under the GIA landscape such as OneNote, ARMS etc. and ensure that they meet end user requirements. Deliver an effective quality assurance and improvement programme and process to ensure that GIA activities are performed meeting all functional, professional and industry standards.

Duties of Audit Services Quality & Excellence Group Manager

  • Support the GIA leadership team in devising and drafting the GIA strategic plan (ST to LT) including the setting of objectives and tracking of KPIs.
  • Own and deliver the overall governance, quality and excellence programme for the department which would include the audit charter, GIA methodology, GIA procedures manual and SOPs, the Quality Assurance Programme, Benchmarking exercise and annual award submissions.
  • Be an extended arm of the core internal audit team and provide support on audits and other management requests.
  • Perform assigned audit duties in manner that reflects the highest professional standards and complies with the guidelines of the IIA.
  • Take ownership of the audit issues follow-up process as directed by management incl. follow-up, closure and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to centralise continuous auditing and monitoring within ASQE (in agreement with portfolio heads).
  • Be a strong advocate for promoting quality in audit work with specific focus on the IIA Global Standards to defined methodology.
  • Establish and deliver an effective Quality Assurance programme to bring GIA in line with the IIA’s latest IPPF standards. This would include Internal and External Quality Assessments.
  • Own the overall GIA website management process incl. coordination with Group Communications for design and content updates.
  • The GIA website (incl. subpages) is a key tool in promoting governance, risk and compliance across the group in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Act as the GIA PMO and take ownership of project administration incl.
  • ‘Beyond the Audit’ initiatives for GIA including the handover and continuing operation of projects once they have been established
  • Work closely with the DAS team of create efficiencies in processes by looking to automate and digitise activities where applicable.

  • Take a leading role in identifying and scoping new projects and initiatives and propose to the Group Chief Internal Auditor.
  • Demonstrate creative ideas and critical thinking skills to ensure projects support GIA’s transformation strategy.
  • Contribute to GIA website content management to help inform and upskill the wider DP World community on governance and controls.
  • Live the GIA DNA by continuously looking for improvement opportunities in audit and beyond the audit activities.
  • Contribute to the development of audit techniques and methodology to ensure continuing improvement in the standard of audit work an

Eligibility Requirements for Audit Services Quality & Excellence  Group Manager

  • Degree (Bachelor level).
  • Professional financial qualification (ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ audit-related experience post qualification (preferably with at least 2-3 years in Internal Audit management).

Skills Desired

  • In-depth knowledge and application of the IPPF International Auditing standards; an expert in applying COSO framework on projects.
  • Solid business acumen.
  • Strong attention to detail with an attitude of ‘anything worth doing is worth doing right every single time.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills (critical thinking experienced in analysis/appraisal of the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes (using relevant tools/techniques) finding practical solutions to address issues, identification of gaps in logic and underlying causes of issues; taking on difficult challenges and finding creative, innovative solutions.
  • Good supervisory skills successful in juggling multiple and competing projects at the same time, delivering quality results and comfortable working with all styles of team members incl peers and 3rd parties.
  • Strong communication skills including report/memo writing and active listening, customizing messages to reflect target audiences.
  • Expressing ideas and findings clearly with confidence in order to influence others.
  • Ability to extract key information from variety of sources to support communications.
  • Confidentiality consideration and protection of confidential data at ALL times.
  • Good collaboration/persuasion skills working independently through self-management with limited direction and guidance, but enjoys collaboration across dynamic and multi-cultural teams through being personable, helpful and incredibly organised.
  • Experience in conflict management negotiating and resolving potential disagreements with stakeholders.
  • Leads by example in all regards to team and out on location.
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to use front-end data analytic tools such as Power BI, QlikView etc.
  • Language skills spoken and written fluent English additional languages are a bonus, in particular Arabic, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Hindi.
