About the Role

The Associate Professor in Digital Journalism at Al Ain University will teach a broad range of specialized courses in digital journalism, social media, data journalism, and mobile journalism at the Al Ain campus. The position reports to the College Dean and requires a minimum of five years of university teaching experience combined with five years of professional journalism experience. Furthermore, the successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, research, and community engagement initiatives within the Mass Communication department. Moreover, this role demands advanced technical skills in digital content production and a deep understanding of emerging media platforms and technologies.

Key Responsibilities for Associate Professor in Digital Journalism at Al Ain University Al Ain

• Teach specialized courses such as data journalism, social media journalism, writing and editing for digital journalism, and mobile journalism.
• Demonstrate control of new technologies, including techniques for combining image, sound, and editorial material into digital content.
• Master the use of digital content production methods, including digital cameras, audio capture devices, and their supporting software.
• Contribute effectively to college and university initiatives and provide constructive academic proposals.
• Encourage students to consider careers in journalism locally, regionally, and internationally.
• Build relationships with local community institutions and contribute to training programs and curriculum development.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Digital Journalism, Digital Media, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at university level.
• Minimum 5 years of professional journalism or digital media experience.
• Research published in international scientific journals indexed in the Scopus database.
• High proficiency in the use of information technology in education and digital content production.
• Dedication to renewing, developing, and proposing innovative curricula.
• Willingness to provide all necessary and required services to the university and college.
