About the Role

The Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics at Al Ain University will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as Human Nutrition-related courses, at the Al Ain campus. The role reports to the College Dean and encompasses teaching, research, curriculum development, and community engagement. Furthermore, the successful candidate will engage in quality research and publish in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the university’s growing research profile. Moreover, this position plays a vital role in equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed as nutrition professionals locally, regionally, and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Human Nutrition to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide constructive feedback to sustain student success.
• Teach a variety of specialized courses related to the Nutrition and Dietetics program.
• Engage in quality research and publish findings in high-repute, Scopus-indexed journals.
• Support and engage in curriculum development and course management aligned with university standards.
• Contribute effectively to college and university initiatives and participate in academic proposals and projects.
• Support and participate in local and international accreditation initiatives.
• Promote and guide students in envisioning their future careers in nutrition and healthcare.
• Maintain relationships with students conducive to a positive and productive learning environment.
• Initiate and participate in community engagement activities benefiting AAU and the local community.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition from a recognized university.
• Minimum 2+ years of proven teaching excellence at university level.
• Research published in journals indexed in the Scopus database.
• Dedication to continued professional development and curriculum renewal.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Advanced use of educational technology including e-learning systems and presentations.
• Willingness to provide all necessary and required services to the university and college.
