Looking for Professor of Architecture jobs in Dubai? American University in Dubai (AUD) invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture to begin teaching in Fall 2026. About the Role
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture at American University in Dubai will teach undergraduate courses in architectural design, theory, and technology within the School of Architecture, Art and Design. Furthermore, the successful candidate will maintain an active research or creative practice agenda and contribute to the development of the architecture curriculum. Moreover, the professor will mentor students in design studios and collaborate with faculty across design disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate courses in architectural design studios, history, theory, and building technology
- Develop and update course curricula and studio projects aligned with NAAB or equivalent accreditation standards
- Maintain an active research agenda or creative practice with scholarly output
- Supervise student design projects, thesis work, and portfolio development
- Participate in department meetings, accreditation reviews, and academic governance activities
- Contribute to program assessment and continuous improvement processes
- Develop partnerships with architecture firms, design studios, and industry professionals in the UAE
- Promote sustainable design practices and emerging technologies in architecture education
- Lead or support student exhibitions, competitions, and community design projects
Requirements
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated experience teaching architecture courses at the university level
- Active research or creative practice portfolio with publications or exhibited work
- Professional licensure or equivalent architectural certification is preferred
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Experience with design software including AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and BIM tools
