About the Role
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance at American University in Dubai will teach undergraduate and MBA-level courses in corporate finance, investments, financial markets, and related disciplines within the School of Business. Furthermore, the successful candidate will maintain an active research agenda with publications in high-quality finance journals. Moreover, the professor will contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and the school’s AACSB accreditation efforts.
Key Responsibilities for Assistant Associate Professor of Finance at American University in Dubai Dubai
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in corporate finance, investment analysis, financial markets, and financial modeling
- Develop and update course curricula and assessment materials aligned with AACSB standards
- Maintain an active research agenda and publish in top-tier peer-reviewed finance journals
- Support student academic advising and career mentorship in the finance field
- Participate in department meetings, committees, and academic governance activities
- Contribute to program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement processes
- Develop industry partnerships with financial institutions, banks, and investment firms in the UAE
- Promote financial literacy and CFA or CFA-equivalent certification preparation among students
- Lead or support finance competitions, trading simulations, and professional development events
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from a Western accredited institution
- Demonstrated experience teaching finance courses at the university level
- High-quality publications in peer-reviewed finance journals commensurate with rank
- CFA charter or equivalent professional certification is an advantage
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Industry experience in financial services, banking, or investment management is preferred
