The College of Information Technology at UAE University is expanding its Computer Science faculty across several simultaneous appointments — a deliberate push to deepen research capacity in both foundational and emerging areas of the discipline. Key Responsibilities for Assistant/Associate Professor in Computer Science and Software Engineering Al Ain, UAE

• Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses within your area of specialization — which may span CS theory, programming languages, databases, visualization, quantum computing, HCI, ML/AI, operating systems, or software engineering.
• Build and sustain an active, independent research program producing publications in Q1 journals and top-tier peer-reviewed conferences relevant to your field.
• Identify and pursue competitive research funding from national bodies such as ASPIRE and ADEK, as well as international grant agencies, serving as principal or co-investigator.
• Supervise graduate students at MSc and PhD level, guiding them from research conceptualization through to publication and thesis defense.
• Develop new multidisciplinary research collaborations within CIT, across other UAEU colleges, and with external academic, government, and industry partners.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program accreditation, and departmental governance as directed by CIT leadership.
• Mentor undergraduate students engaged in research projects, capstone work, or academic competitions aligned with your specialization.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a directly related discipline from a reputable, internationally recognized institution, aligned with one of the open specialization areas.
• Strong and consistent record of publications in Q1 journals and/or leading conferences within your specific CS domain.
• Demonstrated experience in writing and securing competitive research grants, with capacity to lead funded projects independently.
• Proven excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with ability to develop new course content in specialized and emerging areas.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and engage productively in interdisciplinary research programs.
• Specialization in one or more of the following priority areas: CS theory, programming languages, databases, data visualization, quantum computing, human-computer interaction, ML/AI theory and design, operating systems, or software engineering.
• Must be available to join UAEU by Fall 2026.
