Aircraft Technician in Non Destructive Testing Workshop at Emirates Airlines in Garhoud Area opposite to Airport Terminal 3, Dubai, UAE will carry out non-destructive testing (NDT) in the authorized methods as directed by the NDT Engineers when required on components in or from the workshops and on aircraft at Base, Line and Outstation. This also applies to aircraft and aircraft components not owned or operated by Emirates as and when directed. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 6000-10000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Aircraft Technician

  • To ensure all delegated NDT work is attended to as directed and that this is in the order of priority in relation to existing and future or planned work, the usual priorities being in firstly Line aircraft then Base aircraft followed by Workshop components.
  • To complete all delegated NDT work as specified by the manufacturer or as in other procedural documents.
  • To ensure that NDT tooling and equipment calibration and maintenance is carry out as and when require prior to use.
  • To ensure that all required monitoring and testing of NDT processes as delegated is carried out and logged or recorded and when corrective action is necessary, the action is taken or if the corrective action can’t be taken/taken promptly, inform the Supervisor of the situation.
  • As and when directed by the NDT Engineer, ensure future NDT requirements as indicated by the Manufacturer or EK Planning are examined to determine equipment and manpower needs.
  • To follow existing NDT procedures and Emirates Engineering Procedures.
  • To examine existing procedures where it appears there is a need for change and when this need appears justified or necessary, write or suggest proposed change to NDT Engineer.
  • Assist less qualified or experienced staff in carrying out their duties.
  • To attend meetings or planning groups discussing aircraft maintenance tasks in which NDT is or may be needs, as directed by the NDT Engineer.
  • To maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices at all times.

Requirements for Role of Aircraft Technician

  • Vocational or Diploma (12+2 or equivalent)
  • Degree or Diploma in Engg in Aeronautical subjects/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic/Tech Engineering OR Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Aviation NDT experience in an Airline/MRO or any Aviation related industry
  • Post NDT Level 2 certification experience.
  • Experience in an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering environment which includes a minimum of 2 years on the job training in an airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organization.
  • 5+ years experience in Engineering or other fields.
  • Must hold EN4179/NAS 410 /PCN Level II certificate in PT, MT & ET, at least 3 NDT methods.
  • Airport driving permit.
