Parsons is looking for a devoted and passionate Landscape Architect to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This vacancy was published by the company on December 4, 2023 under the job ID R142890. In this role you will participate in the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of infrastructure, roads and landscape engineering and architectural assignments including development of plans, schedules, procedures, and construction methods and systems.

Duties as Landscape Architect

• Review infrastructure, landscape and irrigation work technical packages and provide comments.
• Review and comment on the landscape and irrigation network Engineering submittals (shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, etc.
• Prepare reports, manuals and guideline documents pertaining to specific infrastructure and landscape issues as required by the client.
• Provide support to the Construction Supervision team and oversee infrastructure and landscape construction services.
• Liaise with Design Consultants and Contractors.
• Coordinate with other relevant disciplines such as Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects etc.
• Attend weekly / monthly meetings as necessary.
• Liaise with Key Stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of infrastructure and landscape assets on completion of works.

What you’ll do as Landscape Architect

• Provide infrastructure and landscape input to weekly / monthly reports.
• Ensure the timely review of all documents submitted by the Consultant and/or Contractor.
• Inform the Design Architect and/or Team Leader of any potential delays in the project completion or milestones.
• Participate in all site safety training and comply with all site safety protocols.
• Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident engineer/Asst. Resident engineer to issue site instructions for landscaping, irrigation and associated items.
• Check and measure the performed work in his/her line of work, record and help the Team Leader to display progress vs programmed work.
• Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘As-Built’ drawings within his/her line of work.
• Conduct site inspections and provide measures to improve the aesthetics of the site and landscaping works.
• Responsible for reviewing the performance of subcontractors to assure contract compliance, the application of accepted construction technology and standards, and the acceptable standardization of materials and supplies.

Qualification & Experience

For the role of Landscape Architect (Site based), following is the eligibility criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural or landscape Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in construction and supervision projects.
• Significant experience in technical reviews and comments on technical design packages.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in hard scape and landscape detailing such as material selection, design and specifications for all external finishes, level changes, walls, minor structures, etc.
• Extensive knowledge in the names and types of soft scape (plantation) with the requirement for each of the soft scape (plantation).
• Proficient in hard scape detailing such as design and specifications for all external finishes, level changes, walls, minor structures, drainage, water features etc.
• Proficient in soft scape detailing such as design and specification of all plant materials, planting medium, preparation of the site, contours & grading and control of all horticultural practices for installation works.
• Requires a working knowledge of architectural and Landscaping processes, as well as industry practices.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction.
