Role of HSE Engineer
The HSE Inspector, under general direction, provides on-site technical support for implementation and administration of a project safety program.
Duties of HSE Engineer
- Conduct inspection of work areas, machinery, equipment, and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
- Report incidents of non-compliance to codes and standards and may recommend corrective actions. Follow up to confirm implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure the availability, readiness, and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid supplies.
- Expected to monitor safety procedures, determine cause of unsafe condition through procedure review, equipment and facilities inspection and worker observation with corrective action recommendations provided.
- If properly certified in first aide may function as first aid attendant, providing first aid care to occupationally injured or ill personnel.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Engineering / Health / Environmental from a recognized University or in related filed.
- Qualification in Safety at major projects.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
- Recognized Health and Safety education, certifications, license or training in UAE. (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14000, OSHAD, NEBOSH, OSHAD, First Aid, Fire Safety etc)
Knowledge & Skills
- Must possess excellent working knowledge of industry practices / safety / quality management systems.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
