NMC Healthcare currently has a job opening for suitably qualified candidate for position of a Ward Attender in NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi, AE. This is an Entry level full time role. For this position salary ranges from 2000-4000 AED, which may be slightly negotiable during the interview process.

Responsibilities of Ward Attender

• Assist in patient care and other ward related duties as directed by and under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Respond quickly to patient’s request for assistance.
• Assist with patient’s hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, eating and drinking needs while observing and reporting any specific changes to the staff nurse.
• Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness in all areas including patient’s room within the unit.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply and storage areas.
• Transporting specimens to laboratory.
• Escort patients to and from Radiology Department as directed by nurse on duty.
• Assist nursing staff in preparing/cleaning patient’s room for admission/discharge.
• Assist the nursing staff during the lifting and turning of the patients and transporting them in wheel chairs or movable beds.
• Works evenings, nights, week-ends and holidays according to the schedule compiled by the head of department.
• Assist in Patient movement either on wheelchair and stretcher, beds or ambulance transfer within Hospital scope of work.
• Work in all shifts as scheduled by the Head of Department.
• Strictly adheres to organization’s regulations and policies especially those related  to infection control, patient safety, OSHMS, DOH, JCI and ISO.
• Supports Continuous Quality Improvement and participates and contributes to all the quality  assurance activities of the service.
• Participates and contributes in scheduled in-service training programs.
• Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, associates and Management.
• Maintains confidentiality as per the agreement signed.
• Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
• Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
• Carries out other duties when requested by the Head of department.

Requirements for Role of Ward Attender

• High school graduate.
• Fresh candidates can also apply.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

• Demonstrate motivation to work in a health care environment.
• Acceptable command of oral and written English required.
• Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
