Senior Engineer Cathodic Protection at ADNOC is required to supervise and monitor the cathodic protection (CP) and inspection activities to ensure the assigned crew performance as per the applicable standards and operating procedures to maintain the equipment quality assurance and hence support the Plant’s operations. Duties Of Senior Engineer Cathodic Protection
- Engineering Studies, Advise and Expertise.
- Review daily work orders and assign tasks, on a priority basis, according to the cathodic protection survey due date to ensure timely provision of services to all units.
- Review the cathodic protection survey reports and highlight any non-conformance for immediate corrective action.
- Monitor daily inspection and predictive maintenance checks which include, but not limited to, the IR (current/resistance) drop, on/off potential and pipe to soil potential on cathodic protection systems to ensure that they are regularly carried out as directed.
- Attend the non conformances raised by the concerned parties from different departments to ensure timely provision of remedial measures.
- Supervise the inspection and monitoring of anode bed, cable, test post, and cathodic protection station etc.
- Ensure their accurate functioning and quality assurance as per the applicable standards and operating procedures.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of cathodic protection systems performed by contractors in line with the Company’s standards and specifications.
- Review new cathodic protection projects’ documents and drawings.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to meet the Company’s criteria and international standards.
- Coordinate the cathodic protection inspection activities with the Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance Departments, and third-party contractors for timely and efficient cathodic protection system maintenance as per the set parameters.
- Monitor the cathodic protection database update to ensure data accuracy and enable decision making.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and regular review of cathodic protection procedures and systems to ensure robust processes and continuously improved performance.
Requirements For Senior Engineer Cathodic Protection
The eligibility requirements for the role of Senior Engineer Cathodic Protection are as under:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or its equivalent.
- At least 8 yrs. experience in cathodic protection (CP) monitoring, upgrading, and inspection activities within a large industrial Plant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Strong working background in cathodic protection activities’ testing, commissioning, start-up, and investigative assessments.
- Good understanding of engineering principles for cathodic protection systems and designs.
- Awareness in troubleshooting and corrective action recommendations for cathodic protection systems.
- Working background in technical report writing.
