Designer NPCC Abu Dhabi

National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) is looking to hire qualified candidate for the job role of a Designer E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation). The successful candidate will work NPCC projects in Abu Dhabi. The job holder will at lead the teams involved with development of discipline specific engineering drawing. Job Purpose of A Designer E&I

For small projects, will be designated as designers, with sole responsibility for design work, whilst on larger projects they will assume responsibilities as Team Leaders.

Job Duties of A Designer E&I

• Supervises and participates in discipline specific drafting activities carried out by Level 1 and 2 staff, ensuring that work assignments are completed on time and to set standards.
• Studies and understands the scope of work and specifications for each project.
• Prepares basic drawings and allocates them to team members for the work of preparing detailed engineering drawings.
• Acts as ultimate checker for all drawings produced by draftsmen to ensure compliance with brief, consistency & quality of work.
• Prepares bill of materials for entire project, ensuring accuracy & comprehensiveness of information.
• Provides input for resolution of engineering queries from clients or third parties.
• Undertakes interdisciplinary coordination and perform IDC to ensure integration of project drafting activities.
• Works in close conjunction with discipline engineer to ensure speedy resolution of any problems that might arise.
• Resolves yard queries (within level of capability) that might arise during construction phase.
• Undertakes pre engineering site surveys in order to confirm correctness of handover documents and suitability of allocated site for project implementation.
• Design cable block diagram, single line diagram, interconnection diagram, instrument hook up details, instrument index, cable tray layout, lighting layouts, Instrument / F&G layouts & MCT layout drawings.
• Design / Prepare supports except the simple types.
• Perform 3D design activities.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• Technical diploma in Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• 10 years drafting experience, with a minimum of 2 years at Level 2.
• Supervisory experience and team leader qualities.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
• Knowledge of written / spoken English.
• Competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator.
• Rigorous checker.
